Before photography, making jewellery was my passion. Then kids came along and changed all that. You see I just couldn't find the time to do it anymore. Photography gives me instant gratification. The minute I take a photograph I can see it on the back of the camera. With jewellery a lot more thought and time has to be put into it. Also beads and kids can be a dangerous combination especially when my boys were younger and putting anything and everything into their mouths.

Birds in Flight........Sisterhood Stories
Which had suddenly flown
From a number of trees,
Rose higher and higher
Like departed souls
Borne by gentle breeze—
Transcending the earth
And ever ascending toward
A place of eternal berth.

Sisterhood Stories - New Year
Firstly I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!!
As a new year begins we can't help but think about what this year is going to bring. Some of it will be completely out of our control for good or for bad and some of it is what we produce through our own planning. It's the planning and following it through we have control over.

Sisterhood Stories......Friendship
What a fantastic weekend spent in Venice. You know as you get older you think its harder to make friends (well at least I did). In my experience this hasn't been the case. Photography has opened a whole new world of possibilities and friendships. I'm grateful to have spent the weekend with 30 wonderful and talented women. We laughed, we cried, we froze, we got rained on, we waded through floods, we drank, we ate and we talked......boy did we talk! Thank you ladies for making my weekend memorable. X

Sisterhood Stories ...... Little things!
"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place....I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them" ~ Elliott Erwitt

Sisterhood Stories - Meet Buddy...Drogheda Animal Rescue
I had been thinking for some time now about using my photography skills to give back. I noticed a couple of my Facebook contacts had liked the Drogheda Animal Rescue page and I decided to do the same. When I saw the pictures it got me thinking how important photography could be to help place these animals in the homes they deserve to be in.

Sisterhood Stories ..... Creative Challenges
When Isabelle Lafrance invited me to join Sisterhood Stories I thought great, this is exactly what I need. Then the self doubt set in 'What if my post sounds silly? What if I can't be as creative in my writing as the rest of the group?' Like most things in life it's a step into the unknown. For some it's a piece of cake, for others it's a nerve wracking experience. I am not a writer but I'll try my best and take that step. So here is my first post for the group....
